Through the wealth of knowledge provided by a continual research and development programme, together with the unparalleled experience gained since 1993, QDS is able to focus the appropriate technology to minimise client expenditure and derive maximum value.

A primary tool in this approach is QDS' experience in applying a range of Quantitative Risk Assessment models to identify the extent of remediation work required, based on actual risk presented to human health and the environment. The knowledge derived from this experience allows QDS to avoid inappropriate use of these models and ensure that all input parameters are justified from site specific data. This results in realistic assessments that prevent the generation of overly conservative and hence excessively costly remediation targets.

QDS has also pioneered the use of real time telemetry and CCTV systems in the remediation industry to allow the client to access 'live' operational and visual data from the site. Displaying the output from telemetry or CCTV systems in the office of client or consulting engineer provides reassurance and also helps to build a focused project team, working effectively to achieve common goals. The interface of such systems with QDS engineers and project teams facilitates planned maintenance, minimising down time and therefore operational costs.
